Stretch Out

One morning I was laying all cuddled up in a ball, with my blanket covering me. I was feeling cozy, warm and comfortable.

I believe I heard God say: ‘Stretch Out!’

My answer was: ‘BUT God, I am so warm and comfortable here where I’m at, and the rest of the bed is cold.’

And then I heard: ‘You might feel a slight chill at first, but your body will warm up that part of the bed too.’

‘Okay, I’ll stretch out, — You are right again, it isn’t that uncomfortable, and it didn’t take too long to feel the warmth again.’

Then God said: ‘Jump out of bed!’

‘BUT God, the house is cold, the sun isn’t even up yet. It will take a really long time for the furnace to warm up the house. I have been obedient, I stretched out, when you told me too. Isn’t that enough?’

God answered with: ‘I don’t think so!! Get up and get moving, get going, Move– M0ve– Move. Remember I’ll be with you. You will be much happier moving, than just laying there, because you will soon become uncomfortable where you are at.’

And sure enough, I became uncomfortable in my warm spot. I had to go to the bathroom. I felt the urgency to step out of my comfort zone.

The same principle hold true in our spiritual life. We may feel warm, happy, comfortable, and secure right where we are at. But there will come a time, when we are called to: ‘Stretch Out, Jump Up, Move, Move, Move. Don’t be afraid.’ You might feel uncomfortable for a while., You might even feel a little cold for a season. But in order to meet a new day, to take care of the new challenge, you have to move, meet the day. and deal with urgency’s as they arise.’

Be obedient to the urging and the urgency of the job to be done. The Holy Spirit is saying ‘You better go now, it might be a long time before you get another chance.

Because of your obedience you will be ON Fire, not just warm. When you feel the urging within you and take care of the urgency at that time, you will feel the freedom and total release in your Spirit, Soul, and Body.

Ouch and Amen
