God has given us the Keys to the Kingdom of God. He has given us the authority and responsibility to use the keys as His servants.
I lost my keys somewhere.. a house key, mailbox key, car key, safe deposit box key, and the key to the door where I work. I have searched everywhere, with no results. BUT, I believe the Lord is speaking to me, in and through, the loss of the keys.
The keys, that are missing, are keys to material and earthly things. These things ALSO belong to God. God has given me these keys, along with the responsibility, to take care of His things, to care for His property, here on earth.
A key is a sign of authority, of responsibility, and of ownership.
The Keys to the Kingdom of God are even more important. We need to HANG on to each and every one. Making sure the keys are in our possession all the time, and don’t casually toss them around.
Having an extra set of keys, is wise, but we really should be aware, and be conscience, of the value behind the keys that are in our possession. It is not the key that is valuable, but what the key unlocks.
Matthew 16:19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Revelation 3:7-8 ” ……………… These things says He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens. I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”
Another side to the story.. Have you given God a key to every area of your life?
